qBittorrent exceeds 100 million downloads

Today, 14 May 2021, qBittorrent has reached beyond 100 million downloads since it was added on FossHub back in 2014. It was the most downloaded software from FossHub on 20 October 2020 when it hit over 250000 downloads in 24 hours. That is over 10416 downloads per hour or 173 downloads per minute, or almost three downloads per second.

Three reasons why this is important.

  1. qBittorrent is the second project that managed to surpass 100 million downloads shortly after Audacity. We estimate it will become the most downloaded free software from FossHub soon.

2. There are a couple of unknown developers behind qBittorrent. Working for free in their spare time, despite some critics, they didn't quit, so they deserve our admiration and, if possible, a donation (if you like this project, please donate). They care about their privacy so, please respect their choice.

3. What is even more impressive is that the project managed to survive despite the Google ad ban in June 2017. FossHub, neither qBittorrent team received any answer since then. Other websites are still showing up ads on qBittorrent after almost four years. The project survived thanks to the generous amount of time given by its developers and user donations.

We hope to see better and better versions in the future, and congratulations to everyone involved in this project.

If you like qBittorrent, you can donate them from their donation page or FossHub project page.
